build tarball (in GSI): svn checkout https://subversion.gsi.de/hades/hydra/trunk/scripts scripts cd scripts . ./makeHadesTarBall.sh ~/tarball all scripts are form svn, tarballs are copied form /misc/hadessoftware/etch32/repos the tarball will be named hades_packages_ddmmYYYY.tar.gz The oracle cleint taball can be found in: /misc/hadessoftware/etch32/ora/10.2.0.1_linux_x86_64_fixed.tar.gz Recommended installation: 1. read the documentation in installHades.sh 2. configure according to your needs 3. run . ./installHades.sh order of installation: 1. install gsl libs first. They usually complile without problems. 2. install ROOT: a. If you install ROOT for the first time you have to prepare the system for the requirements. see http://root.cern.ch/drupal/content/build-prerequisites Parallel compiling : since ROOT uses cmake memory is an issue. On small computers (<2GB RAM) use only 1-2 threads otherwise the compiler can crash with an internal compiler error. //-------------------------------------------------------------- Below a typical list of packages used by our standard configuration of ROOT for ubuntu /debian subversion for /usr/bin/svn dpkg-dev for dpkg-architecture (needed by configure to locate system libraries starting from 11) make for /usr/bin/make g++ for /usr/bin/g++ gcc for /usr/bin/gcc binutils for /usr/bin/ld libx11-dev for usr/include/X11/Xlib.h and for /usr/lib/libX11.so libxpm-dev for /usr/include/X11/xpm.h and for /usr/lib/libXpm.so libxft-dev for /usr/include/X11/Xft/Xft.h and for /usr/lib/libXft.so libxext-dev for /usr/include/X11/extensions/shape.h and for /usr/lib/libXext.so common packages gfortran for /usr/bin/gfortran libpcre3-dev for /usr/bin/pcre-config libglew1.5-dev for /usr/include/GL/glew.h and for /usr/lib/libGLEW.so libftgl-dev for /usr/bin/pkg-config libfftw3-dev for /usr/include/fftw3.h and for /usr/lib/libfftw3.so graphviz-dev for /usr/include/graphviz/gvc.h and for /usr/lib/libgvc.so libxml2-dev for /usr/bin/xml2-config libqt4-dev for /usr/include/qt4/Qt/qglobal.h and for /usr/lib/libQtCore.so python-dev for /usr/include/python2.6/Python.h and for /usr/lib/libpython2.6.so openssl-dev or libssl-dev for /usr/include/openssl/pem.h and /usr/lib/libssl.so and /usr/lib/libcrypto.so libkrb5-dev for /usr/include/krb5.h and for /usr/lib/libkrb5.so libldap2-dev for /usr/include/ldap.h and for /usr/lib/libldap.so //-------------------------------------------------------------- b. untar the ROOT source to a temp dir for testing the configuration. tar -zxf root-XXXXXX.tar.gz cd root export ROOTSYS=$(pwd) target=linuxx8664gcc ./configure ${target} --enable-soversion \ --enable-table \ --enable-asimage \ --enable-opengl \ --enable-minuit2 \ --enable-mathmore \ --enable-roofit \ --enable-xml \ --enable-builtin-pcre \ --enable-builtin-ftgl \ --enable-builtin-glew \ --disable-mysql \ --disable-pgsql \ --disable-monalisa \ --disable-globus \ --disable-xrootd \ --disable-explicitlink \ --disable-rpath \ --disable-pythia6 \ --disable-python \ --with-gsl-incdir=${myinstalldir}/gsl-${gslversion}/include/ \ --with-gsl-libdir=${myinstalldir}/gsl-${gslversion}/lib check if the configure finds all ingredients to build the requested libraries! If not install the missing ones and try gain the configure command After success you might remove the root dir, it will be created by installHades.sh If not already there add .roorc to your homedir containing the following directives: Unix.*.Root.MacroPath: .:$(MYHADDIR)/macros:$(HADDIR)/macros Rint.Logon: rootlogon.C Canvas.ShowEventStatus: true Unix.*.Root.UseTTFonts: true 3. Now install ROOT using installHades.sh 4. Install the ORACLE client software if neeeded. You can untar the 10.2.0.1_linux_x86_64_fixed.tar.gz tar -zxf 10.2.0.1_linux_x86_64_fixed.tar.gz /my_oracle_path/ Tar file works on 64bit debian sqeeze/ubuntu 12. The original oracle software can be downloaded from the vendor webpage for other systems. 5. Install hydra2 from svn repository using installHades.sh (needs ROOT , optional oracle) install before if not existing : 1. libxp-dev 2. libxmu-dev 6. Install cernlib a. cernlib is an old software package from CERN. It needs several non standard tools on the system to build. Many things can go wrong and in that case you have to investigate the build log files. The build procedures have no tools to tell you waht is missing. To give you some hints checkBeforCompile.sh is provided with this scripts. . checkBeforeMake.sh Install the mssing libraries and fix the softlinks. b. build cernlib using installHades.sh (CLEANCERN=no for debugging log files ) 7. Install HGEANT using installHades.sh from svn (needs ROOT,cernlib, hydra) 8. Install UrQmd + converter using installHades.sh 9. Install GARFIELD using installHades.sh (needs cernlib)
